Flying Through October

October 8, 2012

Yet again the month is flying by, I think because we’re busy the days are over all too quickly!

This weekend we were invited to take part in the ‘Focacciata’ in our marina. The party was partly to celebrate the boat show but is also a way of the marina thanking all their berth holders for their custom. We ate a tonne of different focaccia including a special cheese one made by a chef from Recco. Then there was a special salami and a whole Grana Padana with the top cut off and chunks to help yourself to. Then we were onto the cake in the picture which was a vanilla, chocolate and cream giant Millefeuille! All accompanied by wine and beer and then champagne! We met some great people with boats in the marina and certainly ate our berth’s worth of focaccia!

My sisters and My friend came for the weekend to help me celebrate mine and Phil’s imminent wedding. It could be called a hen night but we had a few drinks, lots of aperitivi and were in bed by 10pm!! On Saturday Holly and I went for a run so we could fit the focaccia in at the party and then we went for a sail. Surprisingly there was a great breeze and we had a fab couple of hours cruising around.

This week is the boat show in Genova and today we paid a visit. There’s certainly a change in interior designs and the outsides are becoming much more sleek with hatches flush with the deck and lines concealed below the teak. We saw some very funky little tenders, traditional boats, lots of motor boats and even some diggers!! If you’d like to see more pictures, click onto the next blog.

These jackets were a highlight for me. Buoyancy aids in the form of a puffa jacket! Amazing idea!

For the rest of the week we are having an engine service and a fridge repair, booking flights for delivery crew and for us and hopefully by Saturday we’ll be recovered from last weekend enough to celebrate my birthday!

If you would like to join us in Tenerife, we are currently running a 25% discount offer on holidays booked before the end of October and taken before the end of December. See
