Mrs Ginger’s Chocolate Brownies

This is a very special recipe from a lovely lady whose husband had a slight problem with sugar!!

250g butter
425g sugar
4 eggs
65g plain flour
40g cocoa
400g plain chocolate

Melt the butter in a pan.
Remove from heat and stir in sugar and eggs.
Add the flour and coca and mix well.
Break the chocolate into pieces and add to mixture.

Pour into a greased and lined large square tin.
Bake in a pre-heated oven at gas mark 4/180C for 30-40minutes until solid.
Remove from oven and leave to cool in tin.
Cut into small squares.
Keeps well.
